I want to teach my son about computers and I want to start by showing him how
to set up a DOS system first and how to use it , before moving on to others.
The problem is that my Old DOS discs are lost ( I have Disc 3 only and it
seems to be unreadable). I have looked all over the internet but can not seem
to find them anywhere.. including Microsoft itself. Can anyone help to tell
me where to get them, preferably through download as it will be fast?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

First the admonishment. This isn't a DOS newsgroup, although that's part of its
name. This group is for discussion of the orphaned Microsoft product, VBDOS.
(Required, to discourage misuse of the group, as if that were likely. )

That all said, I like where you're going. Not sure I know many good sources for a
true copy of DOS, though. Two ostensibly legitimate sites you might find looking at
are:

http://www.freedos.org
http://www.bootdisk.com

Can't vouch for this, one, though. Be sure you have your defenses on high alert:

http://www.vetusware.com/download/MS%20DOS%206.22/?id=3426

In general, "abandonware" seems to be the key search phrase you'll be wanting.

Good luck... Karl
