Hi all.
I have an app with an OLE container that is being used to display a picture.
My idea was to have a button next to this ole container that would get the
image (snapshot) from a webcam.
That used to work (sort of) but via a detour. In the when I click my button
a window pops up to ask for the source. I would select bitmap and that would
bring me to MS Paint. There I could select "get an image from scanner or
camera". If I were lucky the webcam would be the default, and it would work.
If not, then I needed to start MS Imager first, because there I was able to
make a selection between webcam or scanner. Paint would use from that moment
on the source I had selected there.
Not an ideal solution, but at least I was able to obtain an image from a
webcam.
Recently I bought a new webcam, which came with new, chinese made, software
and from now on Paint always goes to my scanner. In Imager I am still able
to select between the two, but Imager is not a source in my objects-list. (I
don't want it to be, because it is not a standard windows program, so
chances are that one or more of my clients don't have it).
Is there a better way to do all this? Can I for instance register the
software that came with my webcam as source for OLE?
Tia,
Martin
