Hi all!

I would like my VB 2005 application to shutdown when the last form closes
rather than when the startup form closes. One can set the "Shutdown mode"
option to this on the "Application" tag under the project's properties
settings. Unfortunately, it is still shutting down after the first form
closes. I have searched the Web about this problem to no avail. I have also
downloaded the .NET Framework 2.0.50727 and have run it to make repairs, but
that has not helped. My IDE is Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition. If
anybody has any suggestions on how to fix it, please let me know.

Cheers,

Wrong newsgroup. You need to post in a group with "dotNet" or "Framework" in
the title.

I disagree: This option is only available with VB 2005 and not with any
other language included in Visual Studio 2005 so it is indeed a VB problem.

There's "VB", and there's "VB".

The newsgroups with "microsoft.public.vb.*" are the original 'classic' VB
newsgroups (VB6 or earlier). The newer "VBs" are a different language and
platform, and are supported through the "microsoft.public.dotNet.*"
newsgroups.

I'm just trying to be helpful. You don't have to listen and are certainly
free to disagree with me all you wish. You may also stamp your feet and hold
your breath. But the result will be the same. You may get a stray answer
eventually in this group or you can post to a dotnet group and have better
luck.

Try one of these groups...
news://msnews.microsoft.com/
microsoft.public.dotnet.general
microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.vb
microsoft.public.vsnet.general

You can find a complete list of managed (dotNet) newsgroups here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/managednewsgroups/list.aspx

An article that outlines the differences between VB and dotNet Basic:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/kehz1dz1(VS.80).aspx
