Everytime we run our VB6 app (and the visual basic 6 ide) on Vista, it comes
up with 'an unknown program wants to update your computer' and after the exe
name shows 'unidentified publisher'.

Can you give me step by step instructions on how to sign the program so that
the publisher isn't 'unidentified' please. Also Vista seems to like a program
manifest with the user access level for UAC - can you generate a manifest for
VB6 apps and if so how please?

I get the above message EVERY time I run the VB6 ID which is very anoying -
is there no way to tell it to ALWAYS TRUST THIS PROGRAM? Tthe problem is that
if a user gets asked too many times, he will hit enter without reading the
message, which is self defeating.

Many thanks

Hi John,

Please note the VB6 development environement is no longer supported by
Microsoft now, it's just the VB6 runtime will be still supported on Vista.

I think for your VB6 application, it's like other applications, will need a
formal process to sign it. Please refer to following dicussion for more
information:
