How to develop a OLE DB Provider

Hello All

I need to develop a custom OLE DB provider for a data provider similar
to the SQL or Oracle OLE DB Provider. Please advise where I can find a
sample template to get started on this.

Also, some documentation on modifying a template OLE DB Provider so
that I can use that as the starting point.

Hi Belinda,

This is tough job and as I know you cannot do it in VB and have to use C++
for it. In .NET it is simpler, because you could do it using VB/C# or other
..NET language.
I do not know what kind of provider you need to create, but in most cases
you could find some third party provider or use some other solution.
Anyway, if you need to know it, then there is some information about it in
"Professional ADO 2.5 Programming (Wrox Professional Guide)" book (ISBN
1-861002-75-0)
